10 Tips On Packing A Suitcase Efficiently For An Organized Vacation

There is nothing better than heading off to our favorite vacation destinations. After the airline tickets have been purchased and hotel rooms have been booked, it's time to dust off those suitcases and begin packing for the upcoming journey.

Here's my 10 favorite strategies my family uses to pack our suitcases in an orderly fashion, maximizing every allotted available space.

Plan ahead for lost luggage - If you're traveling with family members pack a few of your outfits in their suitcase and vice versa. If you're traveling alone, keep a light change of clothes & toothbrush in your carry-on. Since the majority of misplaced suitcases are found within 24 hours, this tip will ensure that you will have an outfit or two to get you through until your suitcase is returned to you.

Items To Pack In Your Carry On Bag- Prescriptions, jewelry, money, cameras, keys, cell phone chargers, itineraries, passports and tickets should be packed in your carry-on and not in your suitcase. Think ahead and ask yourself "What items would I miss the most should my luggage were to be lost?" Better to keep them closer to you at all times.

Condo Rental - Essential Vacation Tips

Tired of the same bland, overpriced hotels? A vacation should be a chance to get away from drudgery, rather than inviting more of it. That's exactly why many are choosing to forgo the national chain hotels in favor of a condo rental. If you've never considered going this route, you don't know what you're missing. Instead of relying on an outrageously priced mini-bar and room service, you can have a true home away from home. A kitchen! Multiple rooms! A condominium is perfect for families that don't want to squish into a tiny room for the duration of their trip. If you've decided to leave hotels behind, here are some tips you can use for best results.

Time Of Year

The time of year has a lot to do with the kinds of deals available to vacationing families. More often than not, your most popular travel destinations are going to fill up in the summer months, as well as weekends surrounding the holidays. If you want to book a condo rental in one of these times, you'll need to ensure that you make your arrangements well in advance. If you want to save money, try looking for alternative times. Summer is popular because of the weather and the fact that the kids are out of school, but if you can schedule your vacation in October, for instance, you'll find much more budget-friendly rates.

Family-Friendly Holidays in Grenada

There is nowhere better to soak up the sun than in the Caribbean. And if you want to experience glorious climate, pristine beaches, breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, unique history and scrumptious cuisine, Grenada should definitely be part of your itinerary.

Although a relatively small island (you can be hiking through the rainforest in the morning and be on the beach by the afternoon), this island offers many amenities, including Grenada hotels that offer great facilities and service. However, what seems to set this island apart from its sister islands is the lack of commercialisation and tourism, making the island less crowded and more laid-back. Listed below are our reasons why this spice island is the perfect place for your family vacation.

A chocolate lover's dream

If you have always wanted to see wall-to-wall chocolate, a visit to the Grenada Chocolate Company is a must. Chocolate lovers will find this island to be sheer paradise, and will no doubt be eager to take some samples back to their Grenada hotels. Founded in 1999, the Chocolate Company produces incredible organic dark chocolate using the island's world-famous cocoa beans. Nestled in lush cocoa groves in the pristine rainforest, its award-winning chocolate has a unique and complex flavour. Produced only in small batches and using the freshest of ingredients, this chocolate is luxurious, rich, and would satisfy the most nitpicky of chocolate addicts. Be sure to visit the gift shop after the tour for a few (or a few dozen) bars to take home. Trust us, you will want to stock up. After all, the London Guardian called them 'probably the best chocolate in the world'.

Guide to a Family Holiday in Florida

Florida, or the 'sunshine state' as it is popularly known, is a popular family holiday destination attracting legions of parents and kids in search of sun and some fun. Although there are several accommodation choices available for the high-end and budget traveller, the more popular options are the holiday villas and apartments, which offer all facilities of a hotel coupled with the space and privacy that only a home can provide.

By far the main draw in Florida is Orlando thanks to its numerous theme parks including the SeaWorld, Walt Disney World Resort and the Universal Orlando Resort. Added to these are the water parks, movie studios and entertainment facilities and so there is something for everyone - for all ages and for all tastes.

However, go beyond the Mickey Mouse and the water-rides and you will find there is more in store - from freshwater lakes to winding waterways; from hills and forests to exciting cities; and from an extensive 13,560km coastline to numerous bays, islands and inlets. Add to all this the fabulous climate and you have a perfect setting for a memorable holiday in Florida.
